Registration and Official Rules
All Anglers agree to strictly adhere to these rules. _________
Angler Initials
1.
IGFA
rules for record fish will be enforced for this tournament.
2.
All
line must break at or below 80 pounds.
3.
No
wire lines or electric reels. Planer & Downriggers must release the main
fishing line.
4.
Drift
fishing and live baiting are prohibited.
5.
The
Wahoo Windup is a Trolling method event; therefore all vessels must have some
form of mechanical propulsion on board which must be in use at all times while
competing in this tournament. The vessel’s primary propulsion must be in gear
and the forward progress may only be stopped during the actual fight of a fish.
6.
The
Official Weigh Master & the Department of Fish & Wildlife must weigh
all fish.
7.
The
official Tournament scales, and no others will determine the weight for all
fish.
8.
All
fish must be caught on the day of the Tournament and may be tested for
freshness. The tournament date is November 1, 2009.
9.
Pictures
must be taken of the winning fish, the Angler, and the Rod and Reel used to
catch the fish. Do not allow your fish to be cut or altered in any way prior to
presenting it to weigh-in Officials. Any
mutilated fish will be disqualified. Fish must be in eatable condition and not
frozen.
10.
The
winner of the Toyota Pickup Truck, and witness, and tournament Officials may be
subjected to passing a Polygraph examination as a condition of president to
claim consideration, at the discretion of the Virgin Island Game Fishing Club,
and Promotion Sponsors.
11.
Each
angler must agree to pay any and all taxes incurred with the winning of prizes
from this event. 1099 Misc. forms will be issued on any prizes over $600.00. Soc. Sec. No. Will be required to receive the prizes.
12.
The
largest Wahoo over 75 pounds will win the Toyota 4WD Pickup Truck valued at
$25,000.00. Only one winner will be eligible to win the top prize. Cash prizes
will be paid to the next 10 largest Wahoo by weight. Ties will be broken by
length. No other species will count for prizes.
13.
Best
Boat award will go to the boat with the most Wahoo by count. In the advent of a
tie, accumulated length will determine the winner.
14.
Minimum
size; no Wahoo less than 32" in length will count for any prize.
15.
Lines
in at 6:30 AM and all boats must be at the weigh-in point by 4:00 PM or will be
disqualified. The angler and the boat
the fish was caught must be at the weigh-in.
16.
Weigh-in
times start at 2:00 PM, not before.
17.
All
anglers must fish where legal in U.S.Virgin Islands
Waters, Vieques, & Culebra only! Sombrero, Saba
Banks, Gibbs Bank, BVI Sea Mounts, Puerto Rico, are not Virgin Islands waters.
Fishing is restricted to duly licensed area only. Southern limit is 17̊ 21’00
N latitude.
18.
Anglers
must be at the awards presentation on November 2, 2009 to be eligible to
receive their awards. If the angler is not present, the award is forfeited.
19.
Every
Angler must fill out the registration form and sign it to win any prize.
20.
All
catch reports must be turned in even if no fish are caught.
21.
VHF
channel 19 will be the official Tournament channel.
22.
Entrants
agree to hold the Virgin Islands Game Fishing Club and Golden Hook Fishing Club, it's sponsors, Employees and Volunteers harmless from
any and all actions of any kind.
23.
Any
protest must be submitted in writing by 5:00 PM on the day of the event. By
signing this form the registrant is agreeing to all of the above rules and
regulations.
